Composition: Calcium aluminosilicate
Nomenclature: Named after the Latin word "grossularium" which means "gooseberry" because of its pale green color which mimics that of the gooseberry.
Industrial Uses: Abrasives, gemstones.
Additional Notes: A member of the Garnet group of minerals. Hessonite is a brownish-orange variety of grossular.
