Composition: Iron arsenic sulfide
Nomenclature: Named after the mineral's chemical composition. Pyrite is the mineral name for iron sulfide. With arsenic added to the chemical make-up, the name was extended to arsenopyrite.
Industrial Uses: Iron ore, aresenic ore.
Additional Notes: Also referred to as arsenical pyrite and the older name mispickel; however, arsenopyrite is now the official name for this mineral.
